Twitter hit with new spam

A series of third party apps began filtering through Twitter overnight that sent spam messages from users' accounts without their knowledge.
In one example, Twitter users were told that a new app could tell them how many other Twitter users had "unfollowed" them on the service. Once a user signed up for the app, his/her account would automatically send the same message to all followers, asking them to verify their account and then take them to a spam advertising site.

Del Harvey, director of Twitter's Trust & Safety team, became aware of the spam application early Tuesday and quickly suspended the accounts. "The latest round (but surely not the last!) pf scammy, spammy apps have been suspended; avoid clicking on those bad apps!" Harvey wrote in a Twitter message.

Carolyn Penner, a Twitter spokeswoman wrote in an e-mail that no one's account was compromised beyond the spam messages. "We suspended several apps that were created overnight," Penner wrote. "These apps claimed that users would be able to immediately see who unfollowed them once they granted the app access to their account."

Twitter has recently been battling a rising number of worm-like apps that hijack user accounts and send them to spam websites or send harmful messages through their Twitter account without their knowledge.

Speed up your Internet via "ISC BIND local DNS Server" or "Google Open DNS Server"

Many of the internet surfers (I should call them "Netizens" rather) most commonly, are not satisfied with their current internet connection speed. They are always in search of some tricks and tweaks to increase their internet connection speed. Most tweaks found on internet either works partially or don't work at all, which lead to frustration and waste of the time. So, to save the time and also to save you from such embarrassment. here I've come up with a small trick that will increase your internet connection speed a bit.

The most useful tool for the whole internet establishment is the DNS server (Domain Name Server). Without it the internet is not possible. It is used every time you type and hit enter in your browser address bar. The DNS server is used to convert the normal website address to the IP address with the help of it's directory in which, the  IP address are stored for the websites all around the web. Moreover, due to its usefulness and functionality, it also can be used to increase your internet speed. More fast the DNS server is, the more time you save which results in increase of your browsing speed.

Most of the ISPs (Internet Service Provoders), use their own DNS server for more reliability and security. But if you are not satisfied with your ISP's DNS server, you may use this trick.

To be precise, there are two tricks for it.
  1. Using Google open DNS Server
  2. Using local DNS Server on your computer
Google open DNS Server

First, i will tell you about the Google Open DNS Server. their IP addresses are as following
  • 8.8.8.8
  • 8.8.4.4
To change DNS Server, Goto,
Control Panel> Network and Internet> View network status and tasks
At this point you will get the following window...

Then click on "Local Area Connection"

Then Click on "Properties"

Then DOUBLE CLICK on "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)

Then change the DNS Server to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4

If you don't see any change in your speed, use the below trick.....

Using Local DNS Server (ISC BIND)

You can also use the local DNS Server located on your computer. The most commonly used local DNS Server is ISC BIND. Just download and install it and see the change.....
